Many of Wii owners like myself have nothing to look forward to this holiday season. If you own a Wii that means you most likely own Wii Play, Wii Sports and probably Wii Fit with an occassional Mario title here and there. If you fancy yourself a hardcore gamer then you probably have “Zelda” ,”Metroid Prime 3″ and maybe “No More Heroes.” So if you have all of the following, what game should you be anticipating for the Nintendo Wii this holiday season?
Don’t know? Well neither do I nor one-third of all Nintendo Wii owners. Sorry for the gotcha but at the rate of Nintendo Wii sells you would think there was a AAA title in the horizon. The problem with Nintendo has always been third party titles and it is very evident during the holiday season. The Wii boast about 33 million in hardware sales but still does not have the might to grab developers interest. Interest enough for 2K to port “BioShock” or have a “Bioshock2″ exclusively for the Wii. Now I know I’m going to get bashed by everyone reading this article but before you bash me hear me out.

It’s not that I dislike Nintendo because I don’t, I love everything about what Nintendo used to be. I want the Nintendo Seal of Quality games like: Bionic Commando, Pro Wrestling, Final Fantasy & Rygar. As a gamer I feel that the Wii is not the console I wanted, it was spawned from suits in a war room trying to save a buck. The idea in that war room annexed the real gamers and went after the everyday casual gamer. The Nintendo Wii culture I witness from day to day is not meant for me and if you are agreeing with this article; it’s not meant for you either. I am not a casual gamer! I like real games. Real games like “Conduit.” Have you ever heard of Conduit? If you have never heard of “Conduit” and did not click on the link, odds are you are about to write me a hateful comment of epic proportion. “Conduit” is the type of game what will blow the socks off anyone doubting the Wii’s prowess. We should demand games that thrill us and have exceptional replay value.
When I talk to other gamers about Nintendo’s game issues they usually say that it’s because Nintendo is very gamer diverse. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid! All consoles have game diversity, it’s called game genres. What Nintendo has is a failure to communicate with it’s customers. The casual gamers are not gamers they are customers, they buy the Wii because it’s popular. While the “Real Gamers” deal with a bleak holiday season and an even longer gaming drought.
I feel that it is too late to stop this generation of mediocre games but there is hope for the next generation. We must speak up now. Most real gamers are playing 360 games waiting for the next best Wii game and that is your best bet. Don’t be afraid to explore other avenues and that will surely get Nintendo attention. If you are a staunch Nintendo fanboy and hate the very notion of buying a 360, make a youtube video begging Nintendo for better games. If it doesn’t work at least it will be funny.

Haha cool. i dont think that 360 and ps3 are for the more core gamer at all they are just more advanced systems than Wii. over the next like 10 months for me are games like: Disaster: Day Of CrisisMadWorldThe ConduitHOTD OverkillSadness (maybe lol)plus a couple of others but they aint for me lol the only thing i wish that Nintendo would do is be more like the Gamecube there was a load of titles on it for core gamers and lots of more adult games. all Ninty needs to do (with their next console anyway) is really give it a kick up the ass with its graphix side so we can get a couple of ported games from other consoles. and just boost the memory abit more not a load like 360 or ps3 but enough loli really wanted RE5 on Wii but it wont happen and i dont know why lol the graphix are only textured a lil bit more, booo!i love my Wii i would never buy anything else hehe

Tenchu 4, Fatal Frame 4, Sky Crawlers, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Tales of Symphonia, Arc Rise Fantasia, Fragile, Rune Factory, Call of Duty, These are SOME of the core games coming to wii. Third Party support increased dramatically in the last few months, but you didnt seem to notice.
Please, you can have your own opinion, but do your homework before you post anything. Check the news and read about new games coming, ok?

Well… Over the holliday:Wario LandDisaster: Day of CrisisDe Blob007 (exclusive split-screen makes it a must buy)Guitar Hero World Tour
CoD World at War (despite not having online co-op, the Wii controls make up for it)That’s not great as the others, but that’s not shabby for only 3 months… Considering how late the developers decided to jump on the boat. What makes me happy is after that: FragileSadnessConduit MadWorldCursed MountainTatsunoko vs Capcom Monster Hunter Tri Pikmin 3 Red Steel 2 Arc Rise Fantasia Final Fantasy CC: Crystal Bearers HotD: Overkill
Fatal Frame 4
Tenchu 4
Rune Factory
Oh man… And that’s only what I could think in 15 seconds… Besides, we were guaranteed that we’d get a new Zelda, and there is huge potential for almost all great Nintendo franchises (StarFox, F-Zero, Kid Icarus, Kirby, Punch Out…).Just having some hope of getting No More Heroes 2 or Killer7 2 on my console (Suda – and Mikami – loves Nintendo) is already enough to love my Wii.On top of all that, we have some cool ports, like RE4, Okami, and Rygar (end of the year on Japan).

I’m buying more games on the Wii this season that I am 360. Specifically, Wario Land, Samba, Mushroom Men, SPRay and Sonic Unleashed (because the DIMPS version will be better than the Sonic team version).
For the 360, I’m buying Banjo 3 and Battle Fantasia.
The Wii has plenty of good games coming out. The “problem” is that they don’t appeal to “real gamers” because they aren’t a bunch of violent shooter-fests.

@samfish
I hear what you’re saying that the Wii doesn’t appeal to “real gamers” because they aren’t a bunch of violent shooter-fests, but even the non-violent games have some fundamental problems to them as well that I feel the Wii as a system is doing very little to drive game inovation forward when they were perfectly postion to do so. When I think of game like LittleBigPlanet, which will do a wonderful job of straddling the fence between core gamers and casual gamer, you have to wonder where’s the wii version of a game like that. To not only play through all these wonderfully artistic, and music driven levels, but to also be able to build these levels and share them with not only your friends but a community of gamers. And granted Halo 3 might not be everyones cup of tea and that’s ok, but at least acknowledge the community driven aspects of creating maps and game types to share with a communtiy of gamers, which ultimately enhances the game experience. Plus how do Nintendo continually convince third party developers with all this bright and fantastic ideals to make those type of games for the wii and be able to profit of it. And to be able to fully realize there vision with some of the limitatons of the Wii’s hardware. Not to say great games can’t be done because I’ve seen them, but more of them need to be in the wild.

Sorry, but this is one of the worst and most poorly written articles I’ve ever read.
Not only is it wrong, it’s full of punctuation, spelling and grammar errors.
Most of it doesn’t even make sense.
Anyway, these are just a few examples of what people can look forward to on Wii, a lot of them being exclusive and 3rd party.
Animal Crossing: City Folk, de Blob, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Fatal Frame IV: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon, Guitar Hero World Tour, MadWorld, Monster Hunter 3, Red Steel 2, skate it, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, The Conduit, The House of the Dead: Overkill, Wario Land Shake It, Call of Duty: World at War, Rock Band 2
Total: 17
Exclusive: 13
2nd/3rd Party: 15
2nd/3rd Party AND Exclusive: 11
